Hopi Ear Candling & Facial with Acupressure Points.
Ear Candling with facial & Acupressure points (optional)
Ear Candling is an ancient Hopi Indian technique in which the candles (which are actually hollow tubes of cotton hardened by soaking in beeswax and infused with honey and medicinal herbs), are lit and gently inserted into the outer ear. You lie comfortably on your side while both ears are treated, the candles are held in place by the therapist. You will feel a gentle heat and hear a atmospheric sound as the candles burn down to a safety marker. Many clients find this very soothing and calming, and enjoy the treatment because of this.
The candles work on a ‘chimney’ principle, drawing up impurities from within the ear. The rising air also has the effect of giving the eardrum a gentle massage, which, in turn, helps to regulate pressure. Locally applied heat also has the effect of stimulating blood circulation, which can strengthen the immune system and enhance lymph circulation. The treatment is completed with a gentle massage, which helps to stimulate the acupoints and drain the sinuses.
